So is it Rob Bell or Hell’s Bells?

The notion that a loving God would allow people into  a place of destruction, damnation, or fire, which is eternal, or which will not end, is beyond a finite mind to comprehend.

Yet I know that it’s not God’s will for anyone to go there. The place of everlasting fire was prepared, not for humans, but for the devil and His angels.

Matt 25:41  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Interesting enough, though this verse tells us that everlasting fire was not prepared for humans, humans will enter it due to a choice of habitually obeying or disobeying God.

I guess that everlasting life or destruction is a matter of man’s freedom to choose?

The great preacher, G.K. Chesterton once remarked, “Hell is God’s great compliment to the reality of human freedom and the dignity of human personality.”

The purpose of this entry though, is not to talk about heaven or hell, Rob Bell, universalism, will a loving God send people to a place of eternal damnation, or the teaching of ultimate reconciliation.

I am not here to try to convince or debate with you.

I simply want to discuss Strong’s Word # <166>.

Strong’s Greek Word # <166> is αἰώνιος or  “aionios.”

The word “aionios ”is an adjective. An adjective modifies a noun.

In this instance, “aionios”, modifies such nouns as life, fire, or damnation, in the verses which will follow.

“Aionios” adjusts them to mean eternal or everlasting in nature.

The Greek definition of Strong’s Word # <166>, “aionios”, is as follows.

1) Without beginning and end, that which always has been and always will be

2) Without beginning

3) Without end, never to cease, everlasting

I would like to prove that Jesus, the Apostle Paul, the writer of Hebrews, and the Apostle John use the word “aionios”, both to describe eternal life, eternal damnation, judgment, or fire.

They did not discriminate between life as eternal, while punishment or separation from God, as not.

The same word, without prejudice, from the original Greek scriptures, is freely interchanged in the matters of life, separation from God, damnation, punishment and fire.

All of these verses use, “aionios”, Strong’s Word # <166>.

Re 14:6  And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting <166> gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Let your conscience be the truth barometer.

Today, I am not attempting to convince you. We are not children who need to be banged over the head.

I come to you, highly intelligent people, as an exegetical teacher of the Scriptures.

There was a “ hard rock and roll” group in the 70’s named AC/ DC.

Even in my “druggie” days, I found AC/ DC too harsh, too crude, and too scary for my liking.

Their songs, “Highway to Hell”, or “Hell’s Bells”, were a bit much when I was high.

Yet, we see from their lyrics that AC/ DC knew that it was not God pulling people into hell, but Satan Himself.

And Satan can only do that when we give him the flexibility by free will.

So is it Rob Bell or Hell’s Bells?

Hell’s Bell’s by AC / DC.

“I’m rolling thunder, pouring rain

I’m coming on like a hurricane

My lightning’s flashing across the sky

You’re only young but you’re gonna die

I won’t take no prisoners won’t spare no lives

Nobody’s putting up a fight

I got my bell I’m gonna take you to hell

I’m gonna get ya, satan get ya

Hells bells

Hells bells, you got me ringing

Hells bells, my temperature’s high

Hells bells

I’ll give you black sensations up and down your spine

If you’re into evil, you’re a friend of mine

See the white light flashing as I split the night

Cos if good’s on the left then I’m sticking to the right

I won’t take no prisoners won’t spare no lives

Nobody’s puttin’ up a fight

I got my bell I’m gonna take you to hell

I’m gonna get ya satan get ya

Hells bells

Hells bells, you got me ringing

Hells bells, my temperature’s high

Hells bells

Hells bells, satan’s coming to you

Hells bells, he’s ringing them now

Those hells bells, the temperature’s high

Hells bells, across the sky

Hells bells, they’re taking you down

Hells bells, they’re dragging you down

Hells bells, gonna split the night

Hells bells, there’s no way to fight

Hells bells”
